Real Wedding: Maureen and Angelo

Maureen found out about us because she’s a Pilates teacher and she used to teach in the studio directly above our very first studio at Netil House! So it was funny to discover we had so many shared connections and we definitely bonded over that! As Maureen says below, there was no doubt the “Mary” dress by Truvelle was the one from the beginning, and she came back with her sister one last time to finally say YES and celebrate with her! She also decided to accessorise her dress with a “barely there” veil by Twigs & Honey.

Maureen married a fellow Italian and had a stunning celebration in his homeland of Sicily, as these amazing photos by Abi Riley Photography certainly testify! Enjoy!

Please describe your wedding: We got married in Catania, Sicily, in a Baroque church and then dinner and party at Castello Xirumi. We had a blast!

What was your favorite part of the day?: We come from different backgrounds (I'm British Lebanese and he's Sicilian), so for us the best part was seeing all our guests get along and party all night!

What piece of advice would you give other couples?: Do not stress, everything works out at the end and you will have the best time of your life surrounded by all the people you love.

Why did you fall in love with your dress?: From the moment I saw the Mary dress by Truvelle on the Heart Aflutter website, I knew it was THE one. It had everything I wanted in a dress. Simple but with a little detail and an open back. I got so many compliments and two months later, I still get people asking me where I got it from.

What was your favorite part of shopping at Heart Aflutter?: Everything! From start to finish, everyone has been extremely helpful and professional. But the best thing about Heart Aflutter is that I had the whole place for myself and had enough time to go through the selection of dresses they had. I've been to many other bridal shops before who were dealing with several brides at the same time which kind of ruins the experience. Thank you for making the whole process super easy for me and for finding the perfect veil to match my dress.
