Heart Aflutter Bridal is an award-winning bridal studio based in the heart of Shoreditch, East London.

It was established in October 2014 by the owner and founder, Cecilia. We are not a traditional wedding dress shop – in fact, we are not a shop at all! We are an intimate private studio set on the second floor of a cool building in Hoxton, East London, just on the edge of trendy Shoreditch.

Heart Aflutter Bridal specialises in what we like to define “fuss-free glamour”. We don’t really do poufy ballgowns and corseted mermaids here. Instead, we cater for those brides who are looking for something different, untraditional, floaty, bohemian, relaxed - essentially something they can eat, dance, and party in without worrying too much!

Our rostrum of designers is what makes us a destination for brides from all over the country and even Europe. We take great care and pride in hand-picking every single brand we carry to make sure it meets the requirements and expectations of our brides in terms of aesthetics, price point, and ethos. We exclusively work with independent designers that tick all the right boxes – forget cheap, mass-produced, unethically made, and think more sustainable, ethical and slow fashion.

We like to give our brides a completely personal and tailored experience during their one-on-one private consultation with one of our experienced yet friendly stylists. We really want to get to know the vision & vibe they have in mind for the wedding day, so that we can help them find the perfect dress to complement that vision.

About Cecilia

Here I am, my name is Cecilia and I'm the owner & founder of Heart Aflutter Bridal. I'm originally from Italy but I have lived in London since 2009. I have been married to my British architect husband since 2011 and I'm mummy to two gorgeous little boys called Oliver and Oscar.

Most of my brides ask me how I got into bridal, so here are a few fun facts for you… My background is in translation and linguistics, I even hold a masters degree in Scientific, Technical and Medical Translation from Imperial College London. I worked in videogames localisation for quite some time too, notably at PlayStation – random, I know! I started my own business because I really found a lack of untraditional bridal options when I was looking for my own wedding dress, so I decided I had to do it myself! I'm still a massive language dork though and have a big collection of dictionaries that I don't really want to part with (for the joy of my husband!). Now that I'm a mum, you will find me in the studio part-time so I can look after my boys the rest of the time. Basically all my time is split between the business and the family!

I love working in bridal. The wedding industry is such a friendly, supportive space and I love that we get to play a role in a bride's happiest day. I love meeting our brides and getting to know them and it always feels bittersweet when they leave with their dress! The part I love most about my job is getting to choose new styles, of course! I'm looking forward to going to New York in October for Bridal Fashion Week and seeing all the new collections!

When I'm not in the studio, you'll probably find me having coffee at our on-site café, I’m a bit of a caffeine junkie! I also love pizza and gelato - well, I'm Italian after all!
