Our Team

Welcome to the Heart Aflutter space! We love getting to know our brides, so let’s introduce ourselves first! Meet the team…

Cecilia - Owner & Founder

Dream celebrity client?

Jonathan Van Ness! I love his confidence, style, & above all sense of humour.

Favourite thing about your job?

Undoubtedly the creative direction! I love carefully choosing designers and styles for our ever-changing collection.

Which dress are you currently loving?

I am OBSESSED with ‘Adrian’ from the Bride by Sarah Seven collection. I never thought I would love a strapless ballgown as much as I love this one, such a fresh and fun take on this style - a piece of couture without compromising on comfort and wearability!

3 top tips you could give to brides?

1. Set a budget (and stick to it). 2. Do. Your. Research. 3. Go with your guts, always!

Snack of choice?

Dried mango all day every day.

If you could recommend one local restaurant/ bar to brides coming to the Hoxton studio which one would it be?

Morito on Hackney Road is the perfect place for a fresh, Mediterranean-inspired, tapas-style lunch! I am a vegetarian and their veggie food is absolutely to die for. The labneh with roast apricots, dukkah and chilli butter was my favourite dish on the menu!

Favourite ever TV show?

Oh my god there’s so many, I don’t think I can choose only one! But I am a big Drag Race fan, and I love funny, intelligent, well-written comedies like Schitt’s Creek.

If you’re not in the studio where will we find you?

Usually at home with my 2 boys! They are very full of energy so we tend to go to our local parks a lot or take a train (their fave mode of transport) to explore all that London has to offer! Always with a coffee in hand, because you know, sleep deprivation is a thing when you have young children!

Favourite phrase to live by?

“Be a voice, not an echo.”

2. Be authentic and unique.
3. This is your day, so wear whatever you want!

On a yoga mat teaching yogis.

Lisa - Bridal Stylist

Dream celebrity client?

Hands down - Anne Hathaway!

Favourite thing about your job?

Empowering our customers and helping them find the one outfit they will remember for the rest of their lives. I love that as a bridal stylist you become part of that special memory!

Which dress are you currently loving?

I love ‘The Longing Dress’ by Rolling in Roses and should I ever get married, that’s the ONE for me. I'm doing it the other way around - dress first, then fiancé.

3 top tips you could give to brides?

1. Don’t get hangry! Trying on wedding dresses is super exciting but it can also be a bit tiring. So make sure you have something to eat beforehand & keep hydrated!

2. Come in pretty-ish looking. Put on a little bit of make-up (no fake tan or lipstick though please!) and make your hair look nice so you can imagine the full look once you are in the perfect dress.

3. Trust the process! Come in open minded and let the stylist do their job. We always pull the right one!

Snack of choice?

Overnight oats with fresh yoghurt and berries.

Favourite motto / phrase to live by?

“Dressing is a way of life” as tattooed on my leg. I’m a fashion addict and I’m not ashamed to admit that my flat is a walk-in closet. I love dressing up and I don't have a specific style, always wearing what I feel like wearing rather than whats trendy at the moment.

If you could recommend one local restaurant/ bar to brides coming to the Hoxton studio which one would it be?

There's this Vietnamese place called Tay-Do Cafe around the corner. It's BYOB and the food is to die for! Would recommend to go there AFTER the appointment with a bottle of wine eating your own body weight in spring rolls and duck pancakes.

Favourite ever TV show?

Schitt's Creek. It's so clever, amusing, different and refreshing. Every character is genius and the fashion game is on point. My dream is to officiate my best friend’s wedding dressed as Moira!

If you’re not in the studio where will we find you?

Either burning calories in the gym or consuming calories in form of beer or wine with a pizza on the side #youonlyliveonce.

Dan - Admin & PA

Dream Celebrity Client?

It would be someone who is fun, humble, open to ideas and our expertise in terms of styling. Olivia Colman or Rebel Wilson would be superb!

Favourite Thing About Your Job?

Love working with the team - we're colleagues, but also good friends. The building itself and the studio which is full of stunning dresses. It’s such a creative and visually exciting space and I especially love it when new collections and styles arrive from our designers.

Which Dress Are You Currently Loving?

The ‘Daystar’ by Abigail of Gardenia. It’s the perfect blend of daring - in gold, white and silver options of sequins. It’s a classic silhouette - with a bold twist.

3 Top Tips You Could Give To Brides?

1. Enjoy yourself. Be open to our creative suggestions. We are here to help you along your journey by listening, but ultimately guiding and helping to style you for your perfect day. 2. Do your research and find out the styles and designers you think would be right for you - don’t confuse yourself with too many appointments in varied boutiques. 3. Plan ahead. Be confident in your decision and know that it does take time and patience to make a dress. 8-10 months is a sensible timeframe.

Snack Of Choice?

Pringles - any flavour (with dips.)

Favourite phrase to live by?

‘You may not have been your best self today…. but that doesn’t mean you can’t be tomorrow.’

If You Could Recommend One Local Restaurant/ Bar To Brides Coming To The Hoxton Studio Which One Would It Be?

Dynasty - the 80’s version of course.

If You’re Not In The Studio Where Will We Find You?
